OGEC Saint-Jean/Saint-Pierre

Saint-Pierre Primary School is situated in a rural area in Plougastel-Daoulas, a small town in the Finistère department of Brittany in northwestern France. Nestled in the harbor of Brest, between the rivers Alder and Elorn, Plougastel-Daoulas is a peninsula with an authentic charm.

Our school counts 417 pupils who live in the 160 villages and small ports of Plougastel. Some of them live in nearby towns.

They come from different social backgrounds. Some families benefit from financial support for school activities, transport and meals. We also have children with special needs integrated in the classes with other children.

In our school, we try to make the pupils discover other cultures, because most of them do not have the possibility to travel.

Our students are studying English as 1st modern language, but some of them (100) are learning Breton also.

This Comenius project will offer new opportunities for the children to improve and practice their english, to contact pupils of other nationalities, to cooperate with them; they will also have the opportunity to improve their ICT…

In the project we will take the task to be the editor. We will make suggestions for the design of the joint project results, collects the works for them and give them to the partners. We will use our colleagues' and pupils' creativity and ideas to make
